India are scheduled to take on England for the second of 5 Match Test Series at Lords,London this Thursday, 9th August 2018. The Match is scheduled for start by 1100 Local, 1500 PKT and 1530 IST.Lord’s Ground staff has put in a lot of effort to maintain the tinge of grass on the surface hence making the conditions similar to Edgbaston. The question that arises is that will the Pitch swing as much as it did in Edgbaston. Well, if the grass doesn’t play as big a role as we expect it to, the slope is still there. Gotta be difficult for the batsmen. Spin has been prevalent at Lords. Expect the record to stand. It would be cool with the temperature fluctuating within the low 20s. We may have a few showers on the first day and the 5th one. Other days it would be cloudy. Would be difficult for the batsmen. Do expect a result within 4 days. My advice would be to Ball first, utilize the tinge of grass on the surface. The Pitch may ease out as the days progress.
The last time England did beat an Asian opponent at Lords was way back in 2011. Since then they have lost 3 and drawn 2. 2 of the losses have come against a fragile Pakistan inexperienced Pakistani lineup. India have given them much more trouble than Pakistan could manage, coming close in Edgbaston. Pakistan never went there.
England were a much better side in the 1st Test. They were composed enough never to look troubled until Kohli came along. For India one man played the match and he played it well enough.
Form Guide: Both England and India have won 2 of the last 5 Matches they have played. England do however have lost one less game.As far as these two teams are concerned, India have beaten England 4 of the last 5 times. History does favour India.
England played well in the first game and should have entered this game as favourites. That is what would have happened in a perfect World. England have struggled at Lords and we may see an Indian victory. Would be great for the series too.
